A theme park in china has invested $165 million to build a replica of the ill-fated ocean liner, Titanic.
However, this is no ordinary replica of the sunken ship. The unknown theme park is investing a bundle in a land-locked ship which will house a museum but also a "real simulation of the disaster". Including the Titanic hitting the iceberg and the feel of icy cold water rushing onto the doomed ship.
"When the ship hits the iceberg, it will shake, it will tumble," Su said. "We will let people experience water coming in by using sound and light effects ... They will think, 'The water will drown me, I must escape with my life'."- Reuters
Many wonder if this could in insensitive to the disaster but people have been assured that it will be honorable but true to the 1912 disaster. The attraction, planned to open in 2016, will begin construction shortly. Along with the Titanic replica the park is also building a land-locked beach, a "6D" movie theater attraction and various copies of European castles and a Venetian church.
