POV of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom!

It's been no secret that the long awaited Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction, part of the Magic Kingdom Fantasy Land expansion, has been testing as of late. They were even shooting a commercial just the other week. However, aside from some video of the trains running where we could see them, we never got a chance to see what the ride was really all about.

Well, the wait is over!

The folks over at Attractions Magazine have gotten their hands on full, uncut, on ride POV video that shows the entire ride with all of it's show elements. The video below has both the front view and back view included in it and it's definitely worth checking out. So, let's take a look at what Disney has taken three years to put together for us, shall we?


There's definitely some interesting elements going on and the ride itself seems more a dark ride/roller coaster hyrbid. Which, is an interesting mix of things to say the least, and the swinging action from the cars is definitely a cool feature too. The theming around the track area and queue looks great too, but something seems off.


I'll be honest, it doesn't really do much in the way of storytelling at all. I give them credit for trying, but compared to their other rides as of late? It falls way short of what they've been building and it seems like they should've either gone pure coaster or pure dark ride here. It's almost as if they phoned this one in, I never thought I'd actually say that about Disney either.

The ride is just over 2 minutes and 30 seconds long and again, it just doesn't seem to offer much. Breaking it down there's 45seconds of ride (1/3 of which is lift hill), followed by a minute of show. Then, after that is another 30 second coaster section with maybe 20 seconds of "show" again in the final brakes before returning to the station. That's it. Wait. Really?!

Maybe the line will shed some light on this, so let's have a look at the interactive features that they have in store for people.


I'm with +Carrie H.C. on this one, the games and activities look neat and will definitely entertain kids, but it could also slow the line down quite a bit. Though, with the insanely short ride time, the lines could end up moving quickly too.

Overall, can't say that it's really that impressive. Especially not when you consider how long it's been planned and under construction. It'll be an enjoyable ride, but probably not something that you couldn't pass up if the line was too long. Disney really dropped a golden opportunity with this one, especially when you look junior coasters in other parks like Dollywood's Firechaser Express and Canada's Wonderland's Ghoster Coaster.
